Unfortunately there are many versions of the Award BIOS, and they are supported by more than one company, which is the motherboard maker. Award's website states "Award Software software products are sold to a hardware vendor. They then customize them further before selling the system. Award Software cannot supply upgrades for a BIOS that has been subsequently modified by hardware vendors."

| 1 Long Beep | Memory problem There is a failure related to the systems memory. The first bank of memory probably has a failure. This is usually just a physical problem such as an incorrectly seated module, but could also mean a bad memory chip. It could also be a motherboard issue. |
| 1 Long, then 2 Short Beeps: | Video error The BIOS is unable to access the video system.. This is usually caused by a problem with the video card, such as the memory on the video card. It could also be a motherboard issue. |
